advice for supplements?

Post by cracklethepiglet » Tue May 19, 2020 5:37 am

Hi -

I attached a link at the bottom to look at photos of my pig. Any advice on what supplements I should be feeding? What would you say are her strong/weak points on how her body looks? (e.g. What would you change on her if you could, and what do you like about her?)

EXTRA DETAILS:
She is currently on Purina 819. I am feeding her 5.5-6 lb along with 8 oz of oats per day. Her most recent weight was:
5/17/20 - 177 lb.

She has had varied ADGs. I'd say she's probably gaining around 2lb a day.

Thanks!

She looks like she is growing well. By the way, pigs don’t gain the exact same amount everyday, or every week. It does vary some.

For now, I would feed High Octane Champion Drive at 1 lb per day. (Reduce 819 by 1 lb when you add Champion Drive). Champion Drive will help build muscle.

She has plenty of body condition and is growing well so you don’t need an energy (calorie) supplement like High Octane Heavy Weight. She has nice rib shape and enough flank so you don’t need Depth Charge or Ultra Full.

Once you get within 14 days of show you can switch out Champion Drive for Fitter 52 (dame feeding rate of 1 lb per day). Or, leave Champion Drive in the diet and add Fitter 52 (don’t take out Champion Drive).

Thank you very much for your response. I really appreciate all your help over the years. I am going to get some Champion Drive.
