We have two show pigs which weigh 223 and 225 pounds. They need to be 235 next Tuesday at fair. Currently feeding 4 cups 18% moorman with 4 oz oats, 1 egg and 2 oz heavy wt at 7am and 6 cups 18% plus above supplements at 7ish pm. Giving snack at lunch of 2 cups 18% with 2 oz oats. Dewormed July 1st with 3 day safeguard in feed which they hate. They are eating most of this feed, but not gaining...only 1#/day.

Should we give another lower dose dewormer?

Of course its hot, we are spraying down several times a day and giving popsicles to cool them off. Any other suggestions welcome!

I know that I am late but I would get away from feeding cups and start looking at the actual LB's of the feed. You could switch up your worming regimen by using safeguard 1 month and then ivermec the next. Also if you are trying to gain weight pull the oats and replace it with base feed as the oats take up space int he gut and make them feel full. Spraying them down is a great but pull the Popsicles away. You only want to be feeding nutrients and not sugar and sweets. Always watch de-worming so close to your fair as you could easily be within the withdrawl period of the wormer.
