Rate of gain …. Paylean?

Post by Shanek911 » Tue Jun 08, 2021 10:56 pm

Hello , seeking rate of gain advice …
Barrow is 112 today and 64 days till weigh in .
Weight range is 220-310, would like to go across scales at 270+ .
Feed plan right now is 4lbs 719, 6 oz heavy weight, and 12 oz champion drive . Still only gaining 1.6-1.8 daily .
Any advice to get to 2.5+ a day or more?</t

That weight gain is about right for a pig that size. They grow faster as they get bigger. They don’t start off gaining 2 lb/day.

Also, I suggest transitioning to 819 as it is higher in calories than 719. The pig also needs more feed than 4 lb.

I suggest feeding 5 lb 819
1 lb/day Champion Drive
8 oz per day Heavy Weight

When the pig reaches 150 lb increase Heavy Weight to 12 oz per day.

Paylean will increase growth rate at least for 14 days at a time. “pulse” Paylean; that is 1 oz per day High Octane Paylean 900 for 14 days and then remove it for 5 days and repeat again and again.

Legal approved use for Paylean:
Minimum bodyweight of 150 lbs
At least 16% protein in the feed
Maximum of 9 grams per ton (1 oz of Paylean 900 in 6 lb of feed)
For the final 45 - 90 lb of weight gain

Thank you , they have been on 819 for two days now they seem to be eating it better than the 719, between the 3 they are cleaning up 15lbs a day, along with the added supplements.
