Heavy hogs! Need some guidance!

Post by KatoDiesel » Tue Jun 22, 2021 6:39 pm

Hi there! We’re a new 4-H family with our first market swine project. We weighed our hog with 47 days till our fair and he weighed in at 255. Our max weight limit is 315 to take the hog to the auction ring. We have 59lbs in 47 days. We’re currently feeding groats with 18% protein. We’ve upped our exercise routine to about an hour a night walks. Do we stand chance? Any guidance and advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks! -New struggling pig farmers.

Looks like 60 lbs in 47 days or about 1.28 lbs/day.

Can you e-mail me so that I can send you some information?
