3 Month Old Pig With Prolapsed Rectum

Post by jonathandnielsen » Wed Jan 02, 2019 8:23 pm

I just received a 3 month old pig for free from some friends. He has had a prolapsed rectum for about a month and they did not want to deal with him anymore. He has been defecating fine. It sticks out about an inch or so. Is there anything I can do for him? Is it too late to push it back in since it has been out for a month? Thanks!

Yes It's too late to put it back. You could try a tube but the chances that the pig gets a stricture is high. The best answer is to have a pig roast.
