Farrowing-C section?

I hope you guys might be able to advise.
I have a 1.5 year old pot bellied pig who is farrowing for the first time. She had one piglet yesterday and when I found it she had eaten half of it, so Im not sure if it was born dead or not. She passed some placenta yesterday and then again this morning (it looked like very dark red-brown sludge).
She continued to lay down, nest and strain all afternoon and into this morning. I palpated her the best I could yesterday and her cervix was open with no obstructions, but I couldnt go any further given how small she is.
what's weird is she now has stopped straining and is eating and drinking normally. I palpated her again today and her vagina has began to close back down, but still no obstructions.
None of the local vets will see her as they say she needs a c-section so Im looking at a 3 hour drive to the vet school. However the last vet I called said that c-sections almost always kill the momma pig anyways and the babies, if any, Im sure are already dead as I dont feel any movement.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
