Hello all. New to show pigs and our Hamp barrow is at the school barn. Noticed him coughing (thumping) and lethargic 11/13. The ag teacher gave him Tylan and we gave B12 the next day. No improvement so ag teacher had us give him 3cc of Nuflor 11/15. Slight improvement. Less cough but not eating much. Still no improvement so gave excede and resflor 11/16. Resflor 11/17. Resflor 11/20. He’s slightly more active, cough decreased, little appetite. Talked to vet today who sent him banamine and Draxxin. Gave him those tonight. Then got call that other pigs in barn have strep and our pig now has puffy hocks. I’m afraid to over medicate the poor guy. Should we now treat for strep? Also, he has been getting yoghurt twice a day to help with stomach.

When was the last time you wormed him. Also try using a different bedding. Could be allergic. With all those antibiotica i am wondering if it isnt one of those things.

Wormed about 2 weeks ago and we switched to new bedding 2 days ago.
