Sick pig - temp, vomitting, decreased appetite, lethargic

Post by gobigorgohome » Fri Jan 17, 2020 10:47 am

Went to feed our pigs last night. One came to the feeder, took a couple of bites and then walked away and layed down. She vomitted some mucous a couple of times. Her temp was 103.8. She just wanted to lay around, but would get up if I went into her stall. She drank a little water. I gave her Baytril and some pepto last night. This morning she quickly got up to eat, ate about half her feed and laid back down. I did not take her temp this morning. She had cleaned up her feed as usual Thursday morning and was acting normal. Any idea of what this could be or suggestions on what to give her? Our show is in 10 days.

I would get a hold of your vet, especially so close to show, but draxxin and banamine might help.
