Skin condition

Post by Rway » Wed May 05, 2021 9:38 am

So I have a pig. Only one is my show barn with a skin condition. He has had it for weeks, has been ivomected twice. Not greasy hog, not lice, not mange, not mites that can be seen. But has an allergic reaction to something. Lots of itching, some tiny red spots, no marks. His skin seems thicker, and his hair is more course. He is a white hog Chips in pen changed weekly. Sibs have no issues, pigs in his pen had no issues, only him. Thinking it might be allergic reaction to his grind. Is there anything out there that can be given for allergic reactions? Should I just feed him a benadryl pill regularly. He has never been outside to get into anything, his environment has been controlled since day one. Home grown, had all his vacs. Skin seems thicker (at least when given a dose of Ivomec) Curious to what I might be missing. Input?

Fighting the same issue with 1.
Ivomected twice and sprayed.

Nothing is helping.
