spirete rods

Post by dingdar » Wed Feb 17, 2010 10:36 pm

i ordered some spirete rods from Hi-point. My question is are there gilt spiretes and sow spiretes. If so whats the difference, is it the length or girth. I gor gilts to breed and the girth just looks big but i dunno. When she was in heat last time i practiced incerting and well i got it about 2 inches and she started to bleed so i stopped. Also the rod filled with urine, I coudn't be in the bladder at 2 inches can I

Yes you could have easily been in or near the urethra just barely in the vulva on a gilt. Remember you can not use too much lube when breeding gilts. Secondly, remember as you insert the rod maintane that 45 degree angle until you feel resistence and you get to the cervix. Lastly, remember on a true virgin gilt you are going to find and sometimes tear the hymera(sp?). I think that is what it is called.

It could have and probablly was in the bladder, look at the diagram of the reproductive system that most studs have on their sites, its not very far in there.

There isn't a sow spirette and a gilt spirette. Most spiral catheters are very similar in their dimensions. There are variations of foam catheters. Some companies sell a special gilt catheter with a smaller foam end, but in reality it is not necessary.

I buy a lot of supplies from eNasco.com, very reasonable and prompt shipping.
