So my duroc litter was born in the sow lot 9/17 (the day we had planned to move her into the crates. Due date was 9/21 (114 days, but all of our gilts usually go on day 115).
The 3 that we found that were alive weighed 2.8, 3.0, and 3.2. So on 9/22 when they should have been born they weighed 4.6, 4.8, & 5.6. I think this is pretty good (5 days old). I know the sow has 4 of the front teats they are still sucking on. Concerned about how much longer they will still produce.
Starting creep feed: can we start it when they are actually 7 days old (tomorrow) or when they are 7 days old by gestation date (next Monday). Is their GI system still a little too premature to handle creep or are they good to go with having some in a feeder like we normally offer at 7 days?
