Preg tone false negative or false positive
I've got a group of 10 sows.I AI bred 7 of them and then threw in a boar I had just bought. I checked all 10 of them at 4 weeks and had 8 out of 10 on the preg tone and never seen any of the 8 show signs of heat since or the other 2 show any heats. I rechecked them yesterday (7-8 weeks) and only had 2 come up as pregnant. Are they too far along so I get a false negative. Trying to figure out if they are open and not showing heats or if they are pregnant. Don't want to waste feed on open pigs but don't want to get rid of pigs if I'm wrong and they are pregnant.

You're in the zone where pregtones get sketchy. Best advice is to try to find a vet or tech with an ultrasound, should be able to see some form of bones at this stage. Otherwise, will need to feed out until you see outward signs. May have picked up something if the boar didn't go through isolation.

You also have the option of ordering "p test" which is a urine test used to check sows and other animals for pregnancy i hear they are pretty accurate im going to be using mine tommorow.
It's not all about being the heaviest muscled hog, Its about balance.

How accurate is the test? Also where can you find it?
