Post-farrowing sow trouble

Post by Kalaw » Wed Jan 25, 2017 3:03 pm

I have three sows, all of which have pigs on them (the oldest litter being 24 days old, the next litter being 9 days old, and the youngest litter being 3 days old......All three mommas are traditionally good eaters.....were brought up on feed gradually post-farrowing and were all doing great but have since really backed off on their feed intake. The gilt with the three day old pigs vomited a few times yesterday after eating and this morning didn't want her feed at all. I checked her temp and it was normal. All are pooping good. All other sows and pigs that are eating the same feed are having no issues whatsoever. I did pull one of the pigs on the sow with 9 day old pigs, so she had a dose of Excede 6 or 7 days ago.....gave the one with 3 day old pigs a dose of Excede this morning although she was a text book, unassisted farrowing. Ideas????
