Gilt only had 1 baby?

My gilt had a baby 4 days early & she only had 1. She is up walking around, eating & drinking normally. No signs of having anymore babies. The one she did have is very weak. Not able to nurse off her mom but is doing well on a bottle so far. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Was there afterbirth after that one piglet?

Never saw any. She was in a pen with another pregnant gilt. Was going to move her to farrowing crate that morning before we saw the baby. We searched the pen for signs of afterbirth & any other babies. No signs of anything. Figuring one of the gilts ate it all before we got there

Is she in the crate now? You should probably give the sow some type of antibiotic. As well as vaccinate the piglet. Did you give an iron shot to the piglet?

She is in a pen by herself now. Decided against moving her to a crate since she doesn't seem to have anymore babies. The one she did have died this morning. Sow received antibiotics since we went in to make sure none were stuck. She's acting totally normal but we're keeping a close eye on her

Ok. She is more than likely done farrowing and only going to have that one piglet. When was her due date?

She wasn't due Tuesday the 14th but had the one Friday morning
