Lutalyse with matrix?

Post by GrubaughSG » Mon Apr 03, 2017 10:08 pm

Bought a young duroc sow and am having a hard time telling when she is coming in heat. I just started her on matrix because I want to know when is is in for sure. My question is I've heard of sows getting cysts and then can be treated with lutalyse, can I use it while she is on matrix or will that cause any problems? And also do I give her a shot of lualyse or how should I administer that and how much? Thanks

I can't help you with the Matrix because I have no experience with that, but what I can tell you is lutalyse is not for cysts. it is for inducing labor in pigs and starting the cycle process on cattle. product you want for cysts is called GnRH I do not know how that will react with Matrix

I have used Matrix 14 days and followed with 1 dose of PG 600 on day 15. This gets em cranking pretty good.
