In Heat while Nursing?

Post by Pstarr » Wed Apr 26, 2017 3:34 pm

I have a sow nursing. Pigs are 11 days old. This wasn't planned (teaser boar visited her 114 days ago). I don't have in crate just in barn. She was somewhat jumping on me. I sat on her back and her ears went up. She is swollen a little. Is this even possible? Never seen this ever. Thanks

How many pigs is she nursing? It's not uncommon for sows nursing small litters to cycle during lactation, but typically it would happen after 3 weeks of lactation. At 11 days is very uncommon.
