Help with vaccination protocol

Post by JustStarting » Thu Jul 13, 2017 9:23 pm

We have 4 bred gilts who are 3-4 weeks from farrowing. We gave them Farrowsure Gold 5 weeks and 2 weeks pre-breeding. 2 weeks ago we gave the E. coli vaccine Littergard LT-C. The Westcentralvet.com protocol lists giving gilts FluSureXP/Respisure-One for flu and Mycoplasma at 3 weeks pre-farrow, but the 4-Star protocol says not to give flu and mycoplasma to pregnant females. Any help would be appreciated before we do something terribly wrong. HogDoc? Dr Amy? If anyone could send me a link to HogDoc's recommended vaccine protocol for breeding/farrowing and new litters as well as a show pig vaccination protocol, I would be incredibly grateful! I can't seem to find it in the search. THANKS. This is our first time breeding, farrowing, and raising our own show pigs

There is a link but I wrote this back in 2012 and more than a few things have changed. For one there isn't much available as far as rhinitis vaccines so a negative breeding herd is your best bet there.
