Thin gilt

Post by mict71 » Sun Jan 07, 2018 7:07 pm

I have a gilt who is due in about a month. The problem is I would like to see a little more weight on her. She has a very large belly and she is so thin her backbone is very visible. She gets all she wants to eat of a 14 percent dry sow ration my nutritionist made up, and has been wormed with safeguard and ivomec in the last month. My question is how do I put a little weight on her without her putting it into the babies. I am affraid she won't have enough energy to milk once she farrows Any help would be appreciated.

When you used the safeguard, did you treat her for 3 days in a row?

Yes I did I do not think worms are the issue I think she's putting it all in the babies and nothing on her back
