Induction Protocol

Post by jensilver12 » Thu Feb 08, 2018 9:31 am

Hey guys,
Quick question, I induced a gilt this morning at 6 am. Gave her 1.5 cc of Lut at the crease of her vulva and ham. She went to nesting for a bit and has since calmed down. Question is do I need or should I repeat the injection in 12 hours or should the one dose be enough? Was that amount enough when injecting at that site? She should start to farrow 24 to 30 hours after the first injection, correct? Guess that was three questions, lol.

Thanks,

Jen

If needed I use 2 cc in neck area and typically have farrowing 20-30 hours later. Have never needed a second shot.

We inject 1cc Esturmate in the crease. Normally have pigs in 24-36 hours. We have had a few go around 40ish hours. Only one time have we had to give a second shot.
