Gilt lost plug, but no contractions?

Post by CurlyFarm » Wed Aug 29, 2018 10:45 am

My gilt lost her mucus plug yesterday at lunch, since then she has had no noticeable contractions. Shes still eating, walking around, and acting normal. I was able to get some milk out yesterday, but not any really this morning.
Her due date is Sunday. Is it normal for them to lose thier mucus plug early?
Any info you have is greatly appreciated, even pig stories of farrowing and such that relates.
Thank you!

Sounds like she is ok. When parturition starts there is typically a large amount of fluid excreted.

Have seen a few drops before and then farrowing normal.
