Hi u all I'm new to the site. I've got a ? On what shots u can give a sow right after Farrowing. I had a sow had a litter 4 days ago. Before she farrowed she was restless in her crate and cut her vulva pretty good. I was wondering if there's a antibiotics I could have gave her that won't affect the milk or the piglet's ? She's doing good I just keep it clean and put Neosporin on it and sprayed the blue wound spray on it after she farrowed.thanks in advance. Have a great day

Yes, you can give a nursing sow antibiotics.

We had a sow that had cut her vulva badly just after farrowing. She needed to be stitched, and we gave her antibiotics. We had used Excede (which requires a prescription from a vet). You could also try an over the counter antibiotic like penicillin.
