Purebred Duroc Born with White Foot!!

Need some help on this one guys. I bought a Duroc gilt at the State Fair this past August 2018. She had a very successful summer and fall in the show ring here in the Midwest. Bred her to the high selling Duroc boar from that state fair show. She farrowed 11 alive. After getting them dried and cleaned off I noticed one gilt had a white front foot from the first joint down with the toes on the hoof white as well. The rest of the litter all have Duroc traits and look like durocs as we have farrowed durocs for close to 20 years. The gilt comes from a very well known successful breeder in the country and the boar is currently standing at one of the most well known boars studs in the country. Anybody seeing this in durocs recently. Any sound advice is welcome. Thanks

this was much more common several years ago as the Piet influence was starting to become heavier in the breed.

Once in a while the recessive color alleles will line up to express white lower legs. Sounds like your overall numbers with good color worked well.

Would not dwell on this a bunch other than that pig would not be eligible to exhibit as a Duroc. Breed her to Herford and you can then have both breeds.
