Final Drive Sons

Which of the Final Drive sons do you think puts together the most good? Or Do you think Final Drive himself is better than his sons? Do you think there are any other york boars who can add the same amount of muscle and power in a sound package?

I think Power Drive is pretty awesome but we dont have 1000 a dose to spend on a litter.

yea, I agree with you on powerdrive. From the video and pictures he looks pretty impressive. I am drawn to untouchable at top cut as well.

Visionary Genetics has a york boar thats really good might want to take a look at him....I believe he is a Final Move son..

Saw untouchable before open house and was not one bit impressed. Thats just my opinion though. Dad went a couple weeks later to the open house and said he looked a whole lot better. Take it for what its worth.

I know hes not proven yet, but the Doc100K boar at Shipleys could be real interesting. I have been told that the sow side of his pedigree is awesome. He is a Final Move son.

So has anyone else been hearing about scrotal hernias with Final Drive or Final Move? I have heard that there is some of this in this breeding. A pretty prominent york breeder is the one who first told me about the problem. He was saying another breeder bred a sow to Final Drive and got 5 boar pigs and every single one had a hernia. I have been a little leery of using this line since hearing this.

I've heard the same thing. But not to worry, It's one of those 'production' things that don't concern show pig producers. Just like females that can't farrow, have only five on a side and the paddling front feet that have become so popular with the incessant move to add more and more bone.

Final drive does.throw more hernias than normal and also has plenty cusion on the front.

I like Final Shine if you don't need a papered one. He has the Final Drive/Moonshine combination that is so popular for body and bone, but there is Space Monkey in the background, should keep the pasterns better than a Purebred Yorks. I saw his Moonshine mother and her littermates when they were about 100 pounds, they were really good, and went on to a lot of success.
