Bone Thug sons

Was wondering about a couple of Bone Thug sons in particular. Has anyone used or seen Trez at Southern Gold or Its all Good at high point. Also open to comments on other sons of him. Thanks!

I have a Bone Thug x Johnny Monster son I bought from Wesinger at Duncan. We used him a little last year with a lot of success. He was breed to 6 sows total. Of those 6 litters 7 pigs were placed at Texas majors including the Reserve Champion Dark cross at Houston. We are using him pretty heavy this year.

I used Something Bad on a couple sows and was very pleased. Stout, good bone, and muscle. Out of my 10 litters they sold out first.

i have purchased some it's all good offspring, and they've turned out built just like him, which i'd say is a good thing.

What type of females does Its all Good tend to work best on?

We've had two It's All Good litters. First litter was out of a bred gilt from Hi Point, she was bigger and plainer made and those pigs didn't have enough muscle. They were built right though. Talked to Polich before using IAG again and he said take him to something moderate with muscle shape that's square at their knee. Said the boar would fix hocks, put a good hip and rear leg in them, and add bone. We used him on a stout, moderate sow that was already good good built and I think that's one of our best litters (depth and quality) this spring.

I think I read on here somewhere though, that IAG pigs were bowing their hocks after they past to 150 lbs. The first litter we had seemed to be fine there, we'll see what happens with the current litter.

Had another couple questions on its all good. Is he wide in the hip and does he seem to be helping to make wider hipped pigs? Also will he put a good rear third in them and change how they stride? Thanks!

When I talked to Polich, he said take the boar to sows with more width and muscle shape. On our IAG pigs, I would say muscle seems to follow the sow, so I wouldn't expect him to throw lots of width. Hip and rear leg are pretty good on most of ours. Got a couple that get a tick rounder hipped, so maybe protect him there, but that's getting picky.

I've got an IAG litter(No Fare sow) that's in the 180-190 range. Very consistent throughout. Really struck by how well they move at this point. Plenty of size but not overly muscled.

In our county fairs, hamp seem to take it all. Are they hamps or exotics? Or crosses? Which breed do I use to compete? I need depth and thickness, my sows are york with lots of length and height. Which boars will explode my show hogs,,, thanks

Update on IAG litter. We just had our county fair. 4 pigs from the litter were shown in market class one gilt in breeding class( I retained one boar). Of the four, 3 were kept together and shown by my kids and one was sold to a first time exibitor. The three weighed 244,244 and 242 at 6 months and one week. The breeding gilt was sold and was did a few jackpots. She weighs 255. All of the pigs placed between 3-5 out of 11-15. The only real opportunities structurally were one gilt was slightly toed in and the other a little narrow in the hips. None of them ever went off feed or needed to be pushed. Had the kids done a better job they had the potential for more growth and could have been better fit for the show, improving their placing.

Arbuckle show pigs has a very good bone thug son that we have had great success with.
