West Coast LVS
Thinking of using West Coast at LVS this fall. Good bone and build. Looks square and correct. Anyone ever use him and have opinions? Thanks.
Re: West Coast LVS
In my experience he won't add bone but he does make them complete/correct and has added appetite.

Is he a larger framed boar? I had thought about using him but was afraid he would add too much frame for the trend.

I would call him about right. In my opinion the trend is going to taller fronted more extended. I think we're going away from the toad look. You should watch LVS video and judge for yourself:

West Coast is around 13:15 into the video

I'd agree that the trend is changing. (Glad to see it change btw). Lots of talk now of tall shouldered, uphill, extended hogs. I like him on my best gilt to make some keeper gilts.

Re: West Coast LVS
I have a summer litter on the ground, and they have some very good size to them. They have actually caught up with a litter that is a week and half older than them. I bred him to purebred York and the litter is nearly all white, one has black eyebrows and one has a black spot on nose. Other than that they would pass for yorks. They are tall fronted. Good eaters. I have been pleased with them. Oh and yes they are for sale.

What does he add and what do you protect him on?
