Yorkshire x Hampshire gilt ,, sire wanted!

Post by SwineGuy89 » Thu Aug 18, 2016 12:21 am

Hey y'all my gilt is near perfect all I would want is a
Boar that wI'll add bolder elevated shoulders and more rib shape, she has everything down, it would be an added plus if the boar was known to add appetite, her sire is good to go from lean value sires, I would prefer to breed her to a a blue butt boar or a blue boar. I have looked at blue steel, great hog just not what I'm looking for, thanks! Willing to pay 100-200 a dose 250 if the boar is really spectacular.

If you have any experience with horizon or tipping point, does either one made good replacement gilts?

Tippin Point is a true female sire. Just started farrowing gilts sired by him and they are working well.

if you want replacement gilts you have to go with tippin point!!! He is a must use if you want pretty and tall fronted females who are really good structurally. I would advise buying three doses on him though.

I've solely used cornerstone ventures semen the last two years and have yet to miss getting one bred, and tippin point has been the one I've used the most

Does tippin point still throw nice show barrows as well as nice gilts though? My gilt I plan to use him with is a good to go from LVS Daughter. Also, if I bought 3 doses how far a part should each breeding be? Also why would you especially recommend 3 doses for tippin point?

Yes he sires very competitive barrows also. Just take him to muscle and he will do the rest. If I used 3 doses I would give it every 12 hrs. I have only used two doses and have never had a problem getting them settled to him

I have where people only use two and some of them have a hard time getting them stuck. But the couple ppl i know who bought three was always successful. Hes worth three though for what he makes in females.
