Boar that produces fast growing pigs

I have a sow that produces great pigs but there is only one problem they are always slow growers! The last litter was all 6 months and two weeks old ranging from 195- 257 lbs. If it was one or two then I wouldn't worry but even the better ones were only 250. Is there a Boar that can help produce faster growing pigs? I usually use McCoys or Moyers but open to new genetics on the east coast. Thanks!

Kind of curious, how many litters have you had with this sow to determine that each of her litters grow slowly?? If you've bred her to different boars and she's had multiple litters it's just like anything in the pig industry. To make a great pig it starts with having a good quality sow, if your sow was a slow grower then she's passing this one to the pigs as well. I have a gilt that just had her first litter she was a slower grower so I bred her 3 weeks earlier then I typically would just incase this was passed on to the pigs. Also had a sow from Sky Cam who had multiple litters for me to different boars and same thing each litter started out great but they needed another 2-3 weeks worth of growth as each of them would weigh anywhere from 220-240 at the 6 month mark. Hope this helps but first evaluate the sow though before thinking a boar is going to fix it, so many think a boar will fix whatever problem a sow or gilt has.
