i can't say that i have ever tried to walk a pig on a leash simply because i don't see how you can mantain control, if your lookin to walk your pig i'd stick with the pipes and whips, and at first keep your hog penned in case it does get away from you and eventally work your way to larger pens and outside.
I have walked my pig before but she does not enjoy it and runs and squeals for me. So I only walk her back to the barn if she gets out. Otherwise she gets her exercise in an outdoors prn we built for her (I practice driving in there) I definetly would not walk a pig on the road!!! Unless you know it is well trained and responds to your demands. Just let it out but use a cane or whip to drive it. She will get good muscles that way too!

I have done it.
a 100 pound pig is hard to control & I weigh 260.
just tie a loop and put it over the head and neck, run along back & loop behind the front legs. I didn't need a knot just run it under & up.
i kept control but... the pig was screaming I was straining, it was a bad deal.
a pig will not run very far, if you get some cousins, aunts & uncles or neighbors the first couple times you walk to help keep them in an area. you should be ok.
