favorite judges

what are some of your favorite judges that you've either seen judge or have been judged by? let me know!

I have no idea what this Judges name was, but He was extremely polite. Also, he would open the gate and say if you left that was your place when it was narrowed down to the top ten. Once it got to the top 5, he would shut the gate, aske questions, and also start penning people

I was at the Ohio State Fair and watched the purebred and crossbred shows. I thought that both judges, Dave Kilmer & Kelton Mason did a really good job.

Terry Shafer is one of the nicest guys in the whole entire swine industry across the nation! He judged our fair this year and he was by far the greatest judge we've had in my 10 years! right before the grand champion drive he talked about how he has never taken money from the 4-H before and he wasn't going to start now so he handed the check back to our superintendent of the swine club! What kind of judge does that after an 11 hour work day?! That shows how great of a guy he really is.

Dave Kilmer is also a very nice guy. He judged the Elkhart County open show this summer and is a well respected man with great pigs here in Indiana.

I have seen Dave Runyun judge a few county shows and I thought he did a really good job and was super good with the kids. Darrell Furlong also does a really great job.

One of my favorite judges has to be Al Snedegar. he is a farm manager at msu.he was very much about showing hogs being about the kids. he would stop in the final drives and talk to the kids. he's very kind and knows what he's doing.

My all time favorite judge is Bret Kasen and another favorite would be Ben Cooley. They are both outstanding and explain things in great detail when talking to you about market class or even shownamship and why they placed you were they did. I also had the oppertunity to go to a livestock judging camp that they both were at.

We just recently finished up our county fair and Dave Runyun was the judge. He did a great job at our show.

Mark Hoge. Great with the kids and has a good eye. Not a pig passes that he doesn't tell the kids why he does or does not like the pig.

personally my two favorite judges are al shimke and jim mccoy. i have showed under them both and i feel that they both do a really good job and they both have a good eye for the hogs

Terry Shaffer is a GREAT judge judged our county fair and donated his check back to the swine commitee. He judged very consistent throughout the day.
