Sullivans Show Pig Paste
This is our first year showing pigs and they are really excited and we have a hard time keeping a handle on them. We are out walking them every day and know that it should only continue to get better. However, our county fair is in 2 weeks and I've heard of the show paste helping quiet them down a bit for show day. I was just curious if that product is acceptable for a local 4H show or not even though it is not a drug?

I have never heard this being against any show rules and you see it a lot at the shows. There isn't any withdrawal time needed as it isn't a drug.

its all natural as it has hops and barley in it. We use the show cattle calm from sullivans. You get more for the same price

Does it really quiet them down and would it be worth it to buy some?

Re: Sullivans Show Pig Paste
I remember one year a "friend" gave my son's pig something that was supposed to calm him down in the ring - the pig ran around the ring squealing the entire time he was in there. He just went crazy! Please try it at home first as every animal reacts differently.

gobigorgohome is right, try it at home first, our pig did the same thing at home he got worse, once we got to S.A. he was fine there, maybe it was a different environment or something, I have noticed pigs usually act a little better at the show than at home sometimes.
