Tips for slowing down a hog

Post by karson_rhoades04 » Mon Jan 09, 2017 3:37 pm

Hello,
We have a 6 month old gilt, that we have worked and worked with, taken her to 1 jackpot recently, and since day 1 she will NOT slow down. As soon as you get close enough to tap her with whip into a direction, she takes 4 quick steps ahead out of your reach. My son is 12, and has shown for several years now, and won many honors, but this one has me at a loss!

What i usually do when my pig decides to "go for a run" is just tap them on their fore head with my whip it usually works and will make them slow down.

Whenever my pig gets a bit fast, I tap his forehead. Keeping there head up, and tapping under there chin tends to help.
