Biting at the whip

Post by cracklethepiglet » Sun Jun 07, 2020 2:28 pm

When I go out and train my pig, I have a few problems and wanted to see if anyone has advice to improve these...

1. She likes to bite at the whip. I don’t put any scent on it, she just always has her mouth open and closing in a chomping motion. Will that look bad to the judge? Not sure how I can get her to stop...

2. She will take some pauses and try to put her head down to pick up something from the ground. I have just been trying to hit her harder with the whip when she does this, but of course not hard enough to hurt her. She continues to do this though. Is there a more effective way to stop this?

3. Personal problem: I bend over when showing her, and my back starts to hurt after walking her around for a bit. In addition, my arm will get tired as well. Am I doing something wrong that this is happening, or do I just have to power through it?

Thanks!
