Crosses are usually the most popular at our fair, and they usually do the best. Blue butts dominate, as do hamp crosses. If I had to pick a specific breed, I'd say Yorkshire. They're can do great showing, and breeding.

i like durocs personally ....but i dont think there is a bad breed out there!
just depends on how much time you spend working with the hog!

it really doesn't matter. yeah you may get some judges who like one breed over another, but it really shouldn't be that way. [color=red:57d7837773]quality is quality period.[/color:57d7837773] and if a judge can't look past different breeds or their "breed" they shouldn't be judging.

Well, I don't know about everybody else, but I am going to take the best pig I can get no matter what the breed. Say if there is a Hamp that you really like, but then an amazing York catches your eye, you should probably go for the York if it is a nicer pig.

ive been taking hampshires durocs and yorkshires for years and out of all of emm Hampshires have never let me down the lowest place ive ever got with a hampshire was 5th and the highest was second and my fair has about a 189 hog contestants

personally to me its is whatever looks the best is what i pick wiether it is a hamp york duroc blue but what ever it is heck i got a pig that looks like a cheeta and now that he is old he is long bigged hamed and looks good
