ok, this may sound like a really newbie question, I'm a newb. How long before the fair should a show pig begin getting walked. How long should it be walked each session? Any information would be helpful!

My niece begins walking her pig about 2 months before fair. she walks them about 1/2 to 1 hour in the early morning and again in the evening after it cools off.

Hope this helps!

In my option, it?s never too soon. Start early. If it is hot, do not walk them until it cools off. Pigs can get over heated really easy. Don?t walk your pig to far the first time. Keep it short, and build up. Early months are usually for gaining control over your pig. Later months are more so for conditioning.

Good luck.
