I am going to have to say that I'm the next best thing to in love with Blue Bayou. I'm not sure how he sires just because I discovered him this year and yes I have a gilt hopefully bred to him. He may not be the most extreme however, he seems to present lots of muscle, he's preety stretchy, seems to have lots of bone, level topped, the widest and longest hip I have ever seen, and he combines it all in one package. Thats my two cents

WELL THATS A REALLY HARD QUESTION I GUESS IF YOUR LOOKING TO BREED ONE IT DEPENDS ON THE CONFORMATION OF THE SOW OR GILT AND HOW THEY WOULD MATCH UP.I REALLY LIKE PERFECT STORM AT CANES AND IMMORTAL AT HI POINT. AND IF YOUR A RED LOVER THE MUSTANG BOAR AT SHOWTIME IS REALLY COOL. BUT JUST DONT BE TO CLOSED MINDED CAUSE THERE ARE HUNDREDS TO CHOOSE FROM! 8)

Best Boar

Post by TexasAggie » Mon Mar 03, 2008 5:36 pm

It's really hard to pick one boar. It depends on many different scenarios that one could possibly face in the showring. In the mid-west they put a lot more enfasis on pure-bred hogs, but still show some really good crosses. If I had too choose one current living boar from each breed it would be as follows, York-Lake City, Hamp-Mean Machine, Duroc-Gallery, Landrace-Monopoly(sad that Hotwire is gone), Spot-Home Brew,Poland-Indian Larry, Berk-Tadpole, Chester-12oz. Curls, Exotic-(hard to choose, could mention 20 great one's) Fatal Attraction.
just my opinion, but I have seen tremendous pigs at all ages out of these boars, and some of them have done very well for me.
