197 pound hamp needing to put cover

Post by ninamcinnes » Sun Jun 16, 2019 6:44 pm

I have a 197# hog that has 52 days tell show and max weight is 270. We showed him at a jackpot yesterday and they told us he is a great looking pig just needs more fat and cover. What supplements would you recommend?

Every feed company has their "fat" suppliment. If you are using Mooreman's, or Sunglow, or Linders, ect. I would go online and find their product. If you have access to more than one company, then research. Sumo, Heavyweight all have their fans.

I also like using the higher fat feeds that are offered by Moorman's and Lindners. Sunglo is also slightly higher fat content in their base show feeds.

Another thing to consider is dropping your protein percentage to help soften up your hog.

We've always used Sunglo Sumo and really liked it. You have enough time to get the job done.
