We are excited to announce the addition of three summer interns at The Wendt Group for 2024!  

Abi Lilliard of Abilene, Kansas will be joining us for a second summer along with two new faces, Grace Ahrens of Canal Winchester, Ohio and Kiley Allen of Le Mars, Iowa. All three young ladies will be serving as Showpig.com Marketing & Events interns.

Abi Lillard is entering her senior year at Kansas State University where she is currently pursuing a degree in Agricultural Communications, with minors in Agricultural Sales and Mass Communications. Abi was raised on a diversified farming operation in Abilene, Kansas, where a deep-rooted agricultural lifestyle ignited her enthusiasm for the industry. Her journey in agriculture introduced Abi to her earliest passion, 4-H, which kindled her true love for pigs. Once she started showing, she was hooked. This experience not only deepened Abi's appreciation for agriculture but also shaped her career aspirations.

Abi comments, “I’m thrilled to spend another summer with the TWG team, embracing the opportunity to deepen my knowledge and take on greater responsibilities within such a talented team."

Grace Ahrens was born and raised on the outskirts of Columbus, Ohio. While growing up in the suburbs, she wasn’t connected to agriculture nor had the opportunity to be heavily involved due to location. However, Grace spent many weekends meeting her uncle and grandfather at various jackpot shows. At the age of 9, Grace's family moved. It was then that she started her career in 4H, which fueled her passion and drive for the Agriculture and Swine Industry. After traveling all around the country for shows, Grace decided she wanted to share her experience and passion with others. In the fall she will be a Sophomore at The Ohio State University and will continue to pursue a degree in Agricultural Communications.

“I have always loved the culture that Showpig.com created, especially when I attended the All Star Camp in 2022. When it came time, I knew I needed to apply for this position. This summer I am looking forward to traveling around the country as well as getting to learn from industry leaders! I have always been a part of the Showpig.com team in my heart, now I finally have the physical position,” Grace says. 

Our last intern for summer 2024 will be Kiley Allan. Kiley grew up on a small, purebred farrow-to-finish and cow/calf operation in northwest Iowa. There she developed a passion for communication and marketing in the livestock industry. This has led her to study Agricultural Communication and Animal Science at Iowa State University. Kiley enjoys spending her free time with friends and family relaxing on the lake, watching sports, listening to music, or hanging around the barn. 

“I have been blessed to learn from some of the best in the industry. I am excited to dive into new experiences with Showpig.com this summer,” says Kiley.

All of us at TWG are looking forward to an exciting summer with these three wonderful young women, and we hope our customers have the chance to meet them at our summer events!
