I usually feed a starter up to 100+ lbs. but it depends on the pig. Purina has a good starter, in all reality whatever brand of show feed is most readily available in your area is ok to use.

If I was feeding 12hd and had access to a mill I would definitely have it mixed using a showpig base. Many people mix their own showpig feed using one of the major brands base mix and are very successful.

Henderson Feeds in Oklahoma make a ground oat called power oats that work very well as half the ration. They are ground oats with extra fat and protein. 7% fat 15%protein and high in lysine. The half oats half feed works extremely well on the real heavy muscled pigs

Bar keepers. It is a powder designed to clean stainless pots and pans. Make a thick paste and scrub the feeder then use power washer to wash it off and they will look brand new

I've dealt with hi point for over 20 years and they have always treated me well. I am a very small breeder and never breed more than 5 sows, I always deal with Brent or Mike and they have both stood behind whatever they told me.

None of these options are very good ones. You will need a much more economically priced option to make it worth your time
