Re: Colorful Boars
She has black sire and black grand sire and great grand sire on her dams side. Based on her pedigree I would guess she is homozygous black. The only other color you probably have a chance for in one generation is a blue butt from a white boar. It would take two generations to get red in there.

Re: Colorful Boars
To get red pigs you either need two red genes or one red and one from neutral (Spot, Berk, Poland or Pietrain). When you say Hamp do you mean purebred Hampshire? What's the other half of the cross?

Re: Matrix or PG 600?
I would do both, use Matrix for 14 days and then inject PG600. That way you cover a non-cycling issue as well as timing.

Re: Lactation Feed Question
Personally, I think the Lysine is good, I like to have more fat than that in our Lactation feed, like 4% to 6%. I think you could bump down the Lysine for Gestation to around .6%, might be able to save some money.

Re: Brushes, Skin products, and DIYs

We also use a stiff rice brush a few times a week to really exfoliate their dead skin. Below is a link to a good article about this on Sure Champ's web site. You can find many articles l...

Re: Supplement help
What is your goal weight? Not sure why you are limiting your pig to only 4 lbs a day. That diet is deficient in Lysine and is not enough to finish out most show pigs. You need to feed way more. You pig weighs 189 lbs and has 33 days. If it gained 2.5 lbs a day it would be at 272 lbs in 33 days. If y...
