What year is the truck. Having a 350 I'm assuming it's a pre 2000 model.

Re: Short cords
I have only had this happen on my older and bigger sows. I felt the problem was that, since the sow was so large, the placenta did not move along at the same rate as the pigs and there was such a long distance from where the pigs are gestated to where they see daylight, that the cords just aren't lo...

Re: Clean out - infections
Lut won't help after the farrowing process has started. It is used to start the farrowing process. Oxy is the correct choice to induce contractions. More than likely in your case the sow could be calcium deficient and a product like Transrite could help. Prolonged labor along with the temperature th...

Re: Panels for sow pen
What I have found that works really well are 2"x4" horse panels. The openings are so small that my sows and boars are unable to get their nose or mouth through the opening. In three years they have been unable to damage them in the slightest. I would use them again if I had to do it all ov...

Re: 2015 man of the Year?
I bred visionary to my 8-7 sow (bone collector X mack attack). that would make them double bred bone collectors. the barrows in this litter turned out really nice but the gilts were absolutely phenomenal. 3 of them are maybe the best I've produced to date. I've retained all 7. you can see the sow on...

Re: Looking for show pigs in Central Texas
I have about 6 litters out of that boar the oldest is about 4 weeks. I'm very pleased with them so far. The pigs have that up headed cocky look to them. I'll have a better idea of how he is doing by the time I see you in Duncan. I entered 4 weanlings this this year but no big boars.

Re: god didn't make a showpig ....
maybe some of the boar studs are starting to go the other direction. it seemed to me that most of the top selling boars at the SWT Conference had a bit more frame, length, front end extension, taller at the point of their shoulder and balance.
