KGB - product combination?
<t>I am hoping you can help us determine which product we need to use. First of all, I have to say that our "21 Days" has been reduced to "14 Days" due to our scales being on the blink. We were finally able to weigh our son's market hog barrow this evening and he weighed in at 250. Max for weigh-in ...

feeding on show day
<t>I have 2 questions:<br/> <br/> What’s the best plan to maximize feed & water to get the best look on your hog at the show? We plan to either put electrolytes or apple juice in the water the day prior to the show, and day of the show to fully hydrate the muscle, but we were wondering [b:20794a...

<r>Well, you definitely have a good resource here on Showpig.com.<br/> <br/> I completely understand what you're saying about the FBI thing. Our county has a similar situation. HOWEVER, there are folks that are willing to help - you just need to look around. Unfortunately you may need to look outsid...
<t>My son fed it one year. Pigs ate it well. Bought it at TSC and had a very difficult time of getting it when we needed it. I eventally had to find out from the store manager when the truck would be in and then go to the store that evening and buy all they had. I tried to get the store manager to l...

Re: Power Fuel
Where is Yaugers located on 35? Yes, it's on 35, between the Buffalo bridge and the OH River. I know that's a long distance, but I truly don't know how far it is. I would guess it's approx 10-12 miles from the Buffalo bridge, but I don't which direction you would be coming from. If you want to call...

<t>If your sow is that good and the babies look great I would give her a 2nd chance. The problem may lie in the semen - the boar you used may have a low count. You said that it took 2 tries to get her bred - was she standing both times you bred her? I don't know what boar you used but I would try he...

<t>Our pigs didn't much care for it and they seemed to grow slower when we fed the Kalbach. I don't like the anise (licorice) smell it has, and it stinks horribly after the pigs digest it. Talk about nasty... We started out using it because our neighborhood feed store carries it and it was convenien...

<t>We used the shredded beet pulp - and still have most of the bag left over. The pigs didn't like it at all. We ended up using rolled oats. When I move the horses back over I'll see if they will eat the beet pulp. If you decide to feed it to your pig introduce it into his feed gradually, and yes, y...

Pigs on concrete with shavings look better and it makes cleaning and disinfecting much easier which you really cant do in a dirt pen. Hampy I couldn't agree more but you've gotta do with what you've got sometimes. It's a process :P As for the seriousness, we're apparently not as serious as others o...

<t>Our pigs (did have 5 - now down to 4) are in a 12 x 12 barn stall with free access to a 32 x 32 ft pen - all dirt. We have individual pens just for feeding but that didn't work out like we had planned this year. Too many other projects going on to do it right. Hopefully next year we will have som...
