Re: Duelm Boars
I used Fare Shot the other day because he was real right for the gilt I was breeding. I like that boar pretty well. You have to be careful on him because he is said to not add muscle, but on those females that need to be softened up and who need no more muscle whatsoever, they say he is your guy. Th...

<t>I think Chuck Real's stud is on the rise. The boars he has will hang with anyone's. I think that fact that Russell came home to the farm has energized things and I predict that more folks will discover just how good their stuff is and use it more and more. Papi Grande will add bone and butt to yo...

<t>There is always the oldy, but goody 8 Ball. Then there is Magic 8 Ball. A very knowledgeable CEA and Judge told me that other than the 2-2 boar, Hillbilly Cadillac at LVS is the best of the Hillbilly Bone sons. Crossbones is also very much worth consideration. Fame Monster has done well for some ...

<t>Hillbilly 2-2 at Huinker's did just a tremendous job for us. We really like them and a very, very good pig man came and took the second to the last barrow in the pen and never batted an eye about quality. He said he really like the remaining two gilts. Litter size was huge because Huinker does a ...

<t>CEO,<br/> <br/> Was that the Houston Champion out of White Trash a couple of years ago? If so, our mutual friend (RR) had me use him. The pigs were well received as babies and very marketable. In the end, just not quite enough power and bone, but that could have been from the sow side too. No rea...

<t>This is real interesting. Thanks for all the responses. Keep in mind that I was talking about using a black exotic boar on a pure York sow. The reason for wanting to know about black exotic boars is that you have a better chance of getting a great one than you do if you try to find one of the lim...

<t>I have still got to put the evil eye on the 2-2s. They have very little bluing and there may be a pig or two that is all white. I have been battling the stock show bug since coming home from Dallas and I did not want to breath on the pigs so much here at weaning time. Duelm's 96-4 used to throw w...

Black boars that throw white
I need some input for black boars that throw white and make York appearing barrows out of York sows. I need more base width especially on the front end and to square up a rump and get more top shape. The gilt is really loose and free moving and pretty correct on her feet and legs.

Way Out Yorks
Has anyone had any Way Out Yorks? If so, what does he do best and what you protect on? Will he add base with and will he square up the rumps and add pin set? What kind of sows is he working on and not working on?

<t>Don't forget John Huinker's Hillbilly 2-2. I am a small breeder just getting started and had only 1 litter out of a 3/4 or 7/8 Cobb bred sow that is a Revolution daughter. Extremely long and heavy milking, but these pigs appear to have been moderated on length quite a bit and really thickened up....
