Gotta say I HAVE to go with the polands. Always REALLY wide, and they also make good mothers if you get good ones. :)

<t>We haven't been doing spectacular either... Better than last year, but not good by any means. We had one gilt that had 5 stillborns, and one that was huge and only had 4. Also we had one litter start with 14 and end up with 2! Another friend of ours said their sows were eating piglets... Not the ...

Use this!

I used a son of Holy Cow on a VERY small gilt and got a good gilt and boar. I like m polands better but he did very good in expanding them and increasing their size. Love him! He's very good natured also.

My opinion

In my opinion he is pretty good. He would add lots of bone mass to a program but if u have a big gilt I wouldn't use him cause they might get big. TOO big.

Try this.

We buy strawberry Jello mix in a box and pour it on their feed then water it down. They will eat constantly and with no fat, they will not lose their shape.

In showmanship once, in my aunts class, they made u drive other people's hogs. She got a huge grouchy gilt while she gave up her precious little hamp. She was so mad but she won. Really great show!

Polan Gilt problems!

<t>My poland gilt was a grand champion at my state fair and I was looking forward to her piglets. I was excited when I went out as she had her piglets and watched her carefully as she had three. She seemed to need to have more so I left so she wouldn't stress. She still was tightening up after almos...
