I have a sow that produces great pigs but there is only one problem they are always slow growers! The last litter was all 6 months and two weeks old ranging from 195- 257 lbs. I agree with all of the above as well. Just be prepared to lose money and/or stock. I have been doing this for almost 4 years now. It is a huge eye opener, before I showed pigs my whole life then decided to start breeding for local county fairs and a few have went to state fairs. It is very rewardin...

I have been told that you can't use cherry wood shavings for pig bedding. Is this true?? I've had pigs for years and have never heard this before. I go to a lumber yard to get free wood shavings and different kinds of wood can always be mixed in and I don't want to chance a problem is this is true. ...
