Re: Vendetta Pigs

not going to be many pigs fed out of him yet since he really is just starting to be used. we are feeding one out of him now, i bought a late july born little greener type pig back in october. he was not much to look at muscle wise back then but after a good de-worming and feeding 18% he blew up in a...

Re: need weight gain on chester barrow

Way to early for pushing, I would suggest switching over to a grower ration like 632 for one bag and then going to 672 or 685 if your a lindner feeder depending on muscle shape and mass. Don't do too much on a little 50lb pig, wait until the last 30 days to push if necessary. Between now and the las...

Re: Lindner feed

Both are good feeds, I use Lindner 632 as a starter and switch over to Sunglo grower when the pig shows it is ready. I sure wouldn't switch and pay more for Lindner grower than you do for Sunglo grower, if you have access to both use what is cheaper because there both pretty equal, as far as Sunglo ...

Re: Stressed pig

Try giving it a couple beers on top of his feed at home and wait about an hour or so to see if he gets more cooperative, seriously it sounds like a joke and some people may laugh or doubt it but my dad did this way back in the 80's. LOL he always said pigs are like people some only need a couple bee...

Re: Pigs won't stay separated

Try letting them out one at a time on an empty stomach, take a little feed in a pan to coax one away from the other. Pigs are smart and creatures of habit and routine, right now there routine is staying together and getting feed and water bribe them away from each other a little each day.

Re: Someone please help!!! First time having a pig need a feeding plan

Definitely check Lindners feeding tools section on the web page to compare those pigs to yours. If the pig is as described and a very muscular 60lb pig on 611, I would recommend changing to a grower ration ASAP like 672 or mixing 672 and 632. Lindners feed reps are very helpful if you call and ask q...

Re: Polich Pigs

Top notch breeder with good pigs and was friendly to talk too at a sale a couple years ago. Since you bought the pig second hand through another individual I would suggest taking a picture of the pigs ear notches and texting a pic of each ear to him so he knows what pig and litter you acquired, with...

Re: Feed additives

Do all pigs need some sort of feed additive or the best pigs are going to be the best on a base feed? Not every pig needs additives, but not every pig is the same either. Pretty much Its hard to beat good genetics to start and good quality feed being fed consistently. Don't get me wrong using a joi...

Re: Sunglo s-811 vs. Exploded

IMO it doesn't matter one way or the other which way you go here, reason is explode is the exact same product that is in the S-811 ration anyway so just buy whatever is easiest for you. If I was just feeding one pig I would probably just buy the S-811 instead of buying feed plus the explode and mixi...

Re: Need to gain 5lbs daily, advice.

wow that's asking for a lot, don't want to discourage trying but 5lbs a day is impossible. Only thing you can do is keep feed and fresh water in front of him at all times and keep him moving around a little bit when not eating just enough movement to try and create more appetite to come back and eat...

Re: Most palatable Filler???

Used Sunglo Smore Fill the last couple weeks and was happy with it, pigs ate it very well and it wont break the bank. Full Tank is a good product but if the pig wont eat it obviously it wont do any good for you. You can top dress Smore Fill dry a few ounces each day or soak it in water for about two...

Re: Need to gain 3lbs a day for the next 37 days KGB or anyone else can you advise

Wet feed the pig twice a day try to get 5 to 6 pounds a day total in it, doesn't matter if your feeding the 18G or 18 pellet. If feeding pellet feed Add just enough water to get the pellets to break down to a oatmeal consistency and top dress it with 6oz of Sunglo Sumo fat. The sumo will increase fe...

Re: Which Supplements?

Not knowing more about what your pigs actually look like its hard to say they need any supplements at all, not all pigs need to be fed a chemistry set especially when there still under 100lbs. G18 is a great feed and already fairly high in fat but in my opinion at about 150lbs if there still hard mu...

Re: Market Barrow - Bobblehead/Congenital Tremors

Just my opinion, I would think if he stays calm and tracks straight ahead without stumbling around or stressing out and can be drove around the ring like a normal pig it shouldn't really matter. Again just my opinion but at a county level market show if he's that good I feel like most judges will lo...
