Re: Over Run Semen Quality
Look at the semen containers. Most have heat sealed ends. No boar stud is going to cut open the tubes, dilute the semen even more than it already is, then place it in new tubes. They are not going to put more time, labor, and materials into the product.

Re: Success rebreeding sows following C Section
I have had 2 gilts that needed a C-section on their first litters. Vet. (2 different ones working at the same clinic) said there should be no reason they should not be able to farrow on their own in the future. Re: 197 pound hamp needing to put cover

back legs
I sold a pig that lately has "rubbery" hind legs. He doesn't want to stand. When he gets up, he drags his hinds legs a bit, then wobbles on his hind legs. He weighs around 200 lbs. No swelling in hocks. Any thoughts on cause or treatment ?

Re: Lutalyse or not
Lut has been used by commercial producers for a long time to farrow when the paid help is around. I am not one to overuse meds, but I have used lut more and more. My reason is to prevent sows from going over due date and pigs getting bigger and bigger then having farrowing issues. I luted all 8 of m...
