Re: pg 600
I own a Preg-tone II and I can actually tell that a sow is pregnant before the Preg-Tone reads positive.

Was she standing that morning when you ran the boar? Or was that the first time that you ran the boar that day?

Re: Friendly corrections
I do apologize. When I first read this post, it came off much different than when I actually sit down and carefully read through it. It was not near as mean as I thought it was originally. This was my mistake and I jumped the gun before I carefully read everything. I am sorry. A word that you might ...

Re: Friendly corrections
I don't care if this was your first post or 50th post that was mean. I simply said that this was unnecessary. Everyone would have been better off without it is all. And trying to put into example what you said about a barrow is a good example, but change he age to three years and it does not work. T...

Re: Friendly corrections
It's not a burrow, it's a barrow. A Barrow is a castrated male hog of any age. A Burrow is what moles do in your front yard. I would hate for someone to actually think this is true. A barrow is a male pig that has been castrated before sexual maturity. If you happen to castrate a fully mature boar,...

Re: What is the trend in a show barrow/gilt now a days?
The current it phrases include but aren't limited to "hock and joint alignment", "elevated front ends", "square at the ground", "skeletal mass", etc. What it all boils down to is massive boned, tall fronted, feet hitting the ground square and true, no bowed h...

Re: Feeding powerfill
If you switched to just Powerfill and Supplements, wouldn't that decrease your ADG? 5#'s of Powerfill without show pig feed would have you gaining roughly 1.7 pounds a day. Am I thinking correctly here? What other supplements, besides Powerfill, would you be using? I am in the same situation. That i...

Re: Desperate help gaining weight on pig
Reading Caligirl18's post, I am assuming that she means that she barely eats. Not eats barley, looks to me like just a common typo, because that makes much more sense. Anyways, what KGB pasted from Purina's site will help a lot if it is barely eating. Just thought id try to help clear things up.
