Re: Weight ins

Personally, I will leave them on the same diet unless we are close. If I am close to the minimum weight, I will be pushing and trying to stuff them full before the scale. If I am close to the maximum, I will walk them a lot and limit their feed. If I am good and don't have to worry about weight, it ...

Moorfat?

Some people have recommended to me to feed this. It says to only feed 2-4 oz per animal per day. I thought this was really low. I was wondering if some one has fed this product and what they did and how it turned out. Thanks.

Re: Best proven york boar

A couple boars I would look at are Lit Up (Genetic Edge), Maximus (LVS), Skull (LVS), and No Outlet (Southern Gold Sires).

Re: How to get the whitest white

I wash with clear choice from Sullivan's on showday. Anytime the white gets dirty, I take them out and rinse it out. It makes it a lot easier to clean on showday and doesn't stain the white. With this method, I have kept my white pigs white.

Re: Spot boar to make barrows

I think bowser at LVS is an intriguing boar. He will give you that muscle, width, and center. He will also keep them flexible. Idk about the front end or bone. I expect him to throw some bone but not crazy bone. Again a very intriguing boar that could do it for you.

This cut also looks better on dark hogs then li...

Re: Best paylean to feed

I had a good experience with show rite muscle maker last year. Like stated above, get it as a supplement, don't feed to much, and make sure they have clean, fresh water.

Re: Best way to fit your showpig?

Thanks for the article.
A few questions I have:
Do you leave the top a little longer like it stated? (3/4 in on top compared to 1/2 in low)
If so, does it make the pig have more pop, or make it look more professional, or just a preference from the owner? Thanks again for your help.

Best way to fit your showpig?

What's the best way to clip your pig? ( Length, tricks for more pop) Best products for freshness?
I usually just clip the whole body at 1/2 in length. On showday, I just spray sudden impact and mist over water with pump up sprayer. What are the best methods?

Re: Weight help please 14 days

You should make weight because you only need to gain a little over 1 pound per day to make the minimum. To get more weight gain, you could add some cake batter and eggs to help.

All of their supplements have worked for me. Just make sure to use the correct supplements for what your pigs need and to make sure you feed them correctly.

I prefer the grinded feed over the pellet. I like to slop the feed.
