Re: broken back/ hump backs
I think you need to define this to get a better answer. There are several physical reasons why the loin edge at the shoulder is taller than the shoulder, however this is typically just a dip in the front and while showpig judges will discount a pig for the condition it has little to no impact on the...

If needed I use 2 cc in neck area and typically have farrowing 20-30 hours later. Have never needed a second shot.

Re: Keeper Gilt Size
Of course frame size is heritable.
Extremely high as evidenced by the currently misplaced selection criteria on showpigs.

Re: is it genentic ?
The bad temperament is probably genetic imo but can also be triggered by something in the environment at times. Have had gilts that want to savage pigs until they are finished farrowing ten are fine. Have also had gilts with ultra sensitive teats that I had to clip teeth at birth and when done were ...

I really like the Purina feeds and use when possibly however it has become much more difficult to buy as they have imposed such large minimum shipping to my local dealer.
In other words, this may not be the fault of the retailer.

Very very light potential for ear molds in your area. 2016 crop had moderate potential for ear molds. We saw more gib than Fusarium in 2016 but was far from epidemic levels in your area. Based off that I would question the expense of mycotoxin testing. You may look for other causes via your local ve...

Re: What happened???????
Accurate sampling for toxins in grain is relatively expensive plus keep in mind you are sending in a tiny sample of grain as opposed to the volume you feed. Less expensive with limited accuracy exist.
Several labs exist for this, last time I needed I used Iowa state lab.

Lb white heater will work well. Would be better with two installed but one will work.

Re: PLease help
Testicals are visible at birth. I castrate pigs during first processing at two days of age. It is somewhat common for pigs to have a testical located elsewhere than normal. One simply should mark these pigs - I put an 81 notch in the pig ear - to be sure the animal gets follow up. Never sell these t...

Any swelling or redness at the site of the surgery? Ulcers are not as common in small pigs as older pigs in my experience but can't hurt to treat. What does the pigs stools look like? Runny, solid, dark black or brown? Using any injectable antibiotics? If not, I would start quickly. Lastly, not bein...
