Maybe I am off base, BUT if you breed a pure York to a Dark Cross boar that carries the red gene wouldn't that greatly increase your chances of getting some/more solid white pigs? I am pretty sure that all of the ones listed have red in them.

Am I wrong?

Why don't you think about using a pure York? If you want better growth I believe you should get that with putting a pure on a cross and their are several good Yorks out there now that should add some rib.

Just my two cents. Take it for what its worth.

I agree with Chopster - a minimum of 15 days is what I do. I feel they show better signs of estrus vs. only feeding 14 days.

<t>Okay, you need to feed a minimum of 14 days. If you start today day 14 would be May 15 for last dose. So either you wait till they are showing signs of coming in to order or I like to plan on having semen on hand on day 5. Your problem with waiting is they may start showing you signs over the wee...

<t>Personally I dont like to use it if they have already started showing signs (ie - swelling, discharge, etc). If not then I use. However that said, it sounds like the next cycle after this one would put them at or near the end of May anyway. I am not saying you shouldn't use it, but it certainly s...

<t>bdi,<br/> <br/> <br/> After re-reading your post, I am not quite sure of how many days since you discontinued the Matrix. The normal time frame for them to show standing heat is 5-10 days after discontinuing Matrix. My average is about 7 days, I have had one stand at 6 days and one go as long as ...

Has anyone seen this boar in person? I would like to know how good he is from a soundness standpoint.

Anyone have any pigs on the ground from him yet?
