Maybe I am off base, BUT if you breed a pure York to a Dark Cross boar that carries the red gene wouldn't that greatly increase your chances of getting some/more solid white pigs? I am pretty sure that all of the ones listed have red in them.

Am I wrong?

I am pretty sure I have seen some Big Stick all white pigs.

Why don't you think about using a pure York? If you want better growth I believe you should get that with putting a pure on a cross and their are several good Yorks out there now that should add some rib.

I agree with Chopster - a minimum of 15 days is what I do. I feel they show better signs of estrus vs. only feeding 14 days.

I love this guys pedigree - has anyone seen him or used him? His oldest pigs are end of December to early January I sure would like to hear how his pigs are looking?

Has anyone seen this boar in person? He is a stress negative Papparazi son. Kind of pricey, but looks very interesting.
